Importance of Virtual Interview

In a virtual interview, are you failing to make an impression on the recruiter?

Do you get distracted or fail to engage with the interviewer?

Follow simple tips to ace virtual interviews:

1) Sit prepared at least 20 minutes before. Revise on a few possible questions but do not make a script. Take a mixed approach – Use your points but answer genuinely. 

2) While in the interview, maintain eye contact and avoid looking at yourself. Set up the camera at least half an arm’s distance.

3) The best way to display your personality is to use ample hand movements as you speak. Strictly avoid folding arms.

Also, when the interviewer is speaking nod to them to convey that you are attentively listening.

4) Ask qualitative questions from your end to show that you are genuinely interested in this role. Smile whenever necessary and be relaxed because it shows.

5) Be a little louder than usual but softer to sound confident and authentic.

6) Of course you have to dress professionally and check your camera, internet connection and microphone beforehand!! Also, use an uncluttered surroundings and sit in a calm place.

Lastly, if you feel anxious, practice deep breathing.
